With the success of the Pussy Hat Project and Women’s Marches I’ve decided to create a crocheted mini Pussy Hat Applique.

This applique can be sewn onto clothing, made into a pin or glued onto a postcard. I plan on making several of these, adding them to postcards and send them to my political representatives. If you add to postcards you might need to affix extra postage.

What you will need:
Size  G (4.25 mm) Crochet Hook
3 yards of worsted weight yarn (I used Lily Sugar n’ Cream yarn) I used the colors Rose Pink, Strawberry Ombre, and Hot Pink.
Yarn Needle
The finished applique measures 1.5″ in width and 2″ in height. Gauge is not important. To make larger you can use a larger hook and thicker yarn or adding more stitches.

Instructions
Note: Turn = ch 1 at end of row/start of next row

Chain 7
Row 1: Single crochet 6 across. Turn
Row 2 & 3: Repeat row 1
Row 4: Single crochet in next 2 stitches, slip stitch in next 2 stitches, single crochet in the last 2 stitches. Turn
Row 5: Chain 3 (turning chain plus 2), double crochet and sc in 1st stitch, skip 1 stitch, slip stitch in next 2 stiches, skip 1 stitch, single crochet, double crochet and treble crochet in last stitch. Finish Off.  Weave in ends.
